Performance Coach & Physiotherapist

Fueled by a passion for sport and helping others grow, Max brings a well-rounded mix of clinical knowledge and hands-on experience to Athlete Prep. After earning his Doctor of Physiotherapy in Australia and working with student-athletes at one of the country’s top rugby high schools, he returned to North Vancouver with a focus on movement quality, injury prevention, and long-term development. With a background in university sports and a lifetime of playing everything from mountain to field sports, Max knows how to connect with young athletes and meet them where they’re at. His coaching style blends practical science, personal experience, and a commitment to helping athletes move better, build confidence, and perform at their best.

Zeljka

A passionate coach with 14 years of experience in strength and conditioning, triathlon, and physical education, Zeljka blends scientific knowledge with hands-on mentorship. She holds a Master’s in Sports and Physical Education and multiple international certifications. As a former competitive basketball player and accomplished endurance athlete, she brings a holistic, performance-driven approach to training that empowers athletes to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Daryl brings over 30 years of experience in athlete development, strength and conditioning, mental performance coaching, and education, working across youth, high-performance, and adult populations. He is co-owner of Athlete Prep Inc. (Toronto/Vancouver) and co-owner of Sweat Shoppe Gym (Toronto), where he has successfully designed and led programs for athletes ages 5 to 18 at every level—from grassroots and AAA to varsity, junior, and professional competition—as well as for adult fitness and high-performance clients. Daryl has worked with athletes from the NHL, NCAA, CFL, and Olympic sports, and brings extensive experience coaching AAA teams, varsity teams, and individual athletes. He holds a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education (BPHE) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from the University of Toronto, and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NCCP Level II coach, with multiple specialized certifications in strength training, Olympic lifting, functional movement, and mental performance. Earlier in his career, Daryl taught for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), serving as both a classroom educator and multi-sport coach across soccer, hockey, basketball, track & field, and football. His foundation as an educator and mentor informs his holistic, character-centred approach to athlete development, emphasizing leadership, resilience, and lifelong growth.

Growing up, sports were more than just a pastime for Ethan—they were a way of life. Competing in hockey, golf, basketball, and swimming from a young age, each sport taught him invaluable lessons that now shape the way he trains and connects with clients. With these diverse athletic experiences came a well-rounded perspective on fitness and movement, allowing him to tailor training programs that are dynamic, effective, and fun—no matter your goals or fitness level. Ethan earned his Personal Trainer’s Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), allowing him to approach his training with the latest science-backed knowledge emphasizing strength building, hypertrophy, improved athletic performance, and overall increases in health and wellness. When he is not training or playing a sport, Ethan enjoys reading and going on long walks with his dog, as well as spending time with friends and family.

Nathan is a senior at McGill University pursuing his BSc in Kinesiology. He has proven experience working in fitness, clinical, and academic settings, specializing in youth athletic development. While at school in Montreal, he is a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Lower Canada College, where he oversees and designs strength and athletic programs for both the middle and high school hockey, football, and basketball teams. Beyond the gym, Nathan brings over 7 years of on-ice hockey development experience. He is an assistant hockey coach at LCC and was previously a Senior Instructor at Canlan Sports.

Tyler is a dedicated goaltender with over four years of junior hockey experience in the OJHL and GOJHL. Following his competitive playing career, he transitioned into coaching, spending three years as a goalie instructor. His work includes both on-ice technical development and off-ice performance training. Driven by a deep passion for the game, Tyler is committed to helping younger athletes reach their full potential, offering mentorship, skill development, and a positive learning environment for aspiring goalies.

Tristan

With over five years of junior hockey experience in both the OJHL and GOJHL, Tristan has developed a deep understanding of the game through high-level competition and dedication. In addition to his playing career, he has spent more than two years leading on- and off-ice training sessions, helping develop younger players both technically and mentally. Known for his passion for hockey, Tristan brings intensity, leadership, and a genuine commitment to giving back to the game by mentoring the next generation of athletes.
